We provide treatment for different behavioral health issues.

At Meridian Health and Behavioral Services, our treatment approach is geared towards providing you with an individualized plan of care that caters to your specific needs. This is why we make sure that before we provide you with services, we first let you undergo assessments that include interviews and tests, depending on your symptoms. This allows us to make accurate diagnoses and create treatment plans that cater to your unique needs and preferences. Since addressing behavioral health issues is highly collaborative, we let our clients be involved in formulating their treatment plans for our sessions. We also educate them about the nature of their conditions and how to manage them. This way, they will understand the importance of their treatments and may become more motivated to adhere to them.

Our services include:

Conditions We Treat

Our treatment specialties include but are not limited to:

Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders can affect a person’s overall functioning and relationships. They are often characterized by extreme fear or worry of a stimulus or the anticipation of the appearance of a stimulus.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is characterized by fluctuating moods, unusual energy shifts, and changes in activity levels. These may also affect their ability to concentrate and do their everyday activities.

Neurocognitive Disorders

Individuals with neurocognitive disorders experience decreased mental functions in connection with other medical conditions. Among the most common signs of these conditions are a decline in decision-making skills and recall.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders

PTSD may be caused by a traumatic event on one’s life and even traumatic events that they may have heard from other people’s experiences. They may cause emotional and physical distress and reactions. They can also manifest in nightmares and can cause severe anxiety.

Addiction

Addiction is mostly treated through psychotherapy and medications but sobriety can only be achieved when a person commits to their treatments. Psychotherapy allows a person to express their feelings and thoughts, and medications can help control brain neurons that may prompt them to take their object of addiction.

Depression

Depression symptoms vary for each client. Some may show signs of sadness or loneliness, while others may be completely different. However, the most common symptoms include pervasive feelings of hopelessness, loss of interest in activities or things that were objects of interests, uncontrollable emotions, and more.

Schizophrenia

Individuals may experience delusions and hallucinations. Delusions are irrational thoughts that are often accompanied by worries and anxiety even if there is evidence to prove otherwise. Hallucinations are sensations that are not real but are still experienced by the individual; like hearing voices, seeing shadows, smelling odors, and more.

ADHD

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a mental disorder that is often characterized by unusual levels of hyperactivity and/or inability to concentrate. This condition is often diagnosed in children but can also be diagnosed in adults.
